French pollster Ifop/Fiducial has launched a daily ‘rolling’ voting intention poll ahead of Presidential elections on 23 April. The pollster aims to add 500 new responses to its poll daily, while simultaneously dropping the oldest day of its fieldwork. Results are carried every evening by media partners iTélé, Paris Match and Sud Radio.
The first daily bulletin shows a closely packed field of candidates with first round voting intentions (percentages) as below:
- Marine Le Pen (Front National, FN) 24.0
- Francois Fillon (Les Républicains, LR) 21.0
- Emmanuel Macron (En Marche!) 20.0
- Benoit Hamon (Parti Socialiste, PS) 18.0
- Jean-Luc Mélenchon (France Insoumise) 9.0
- Francois Bayrou (MoDem) 4.5
- Yannick Jadot (EELV) 1.0
- Others 4.0
In a projected second round run-off between the two leading candidates, Francois Fillon is credited with 60 per cent against 40 per cent for Marine Le Pen.
Fieldwork: 29.01.-01.02.2017. Sample: 1409. Method: Online poll. Full report available on the Ifop/Fiducial and Paris Match websites.
